David Yeandle, OBE
David Yeandle was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2010, having experienced symptoms up to 3 years prior to this. While many people find an MS diagnosis a difficult and confusing time due to a lack of general awareness around the disease, he was unfortunately quite familiar with MS, as his youngest sister had been diagnosed with the disease almost 30 years ago.
Using his existing knowledge and experience of MS, he decided to approach his diagnosis with the motto ‘I will manage my MS, rather than allow it to manage me.’ Having retired from a demanding full-time role in 2010, he had a number of part-time consultancy roles, including serving as the President of the United Nations’ Staff-Management Committee from 2014 to 2018, before retiring in 2020. He is currently a Trustee of Eastleigh Citizens Advice and works with various MS charities.
